For third occasion, music of Mexican composer Venus Rey Jr will be performed in Moscow.

On Thursday June 13, 2019, at 7pm, a program of contemporary music and dance will be presented at the Scriabin Museum. “Dance for 8 Strings” (Танец для 8 струн) is the name of this performance. The reason of the name is that, both violin and cello have four strings each. The concert is conceived as a unitary performance for 8 strings and 2 bodies, with the music of six contemporary composers, among them Venus Rey Jr.

The choreography will be performed by Konstantin Gruoss and Vladislav Plotonov. Violinist Stalisnav Malyshev and cellist Olga Kalinova will be the performers. These musicians are the creators of Open Sound Orchestra, an ensamble specialized in contemporary music, particularly the music of living composers. The ensemble is based in Moscow.
